An attachable hood kit is now available for the M-48 MOD-1 modular full face mask. The hood is attached to the mask with brackets and screws. A short rear zipper and earphone pockets are standard. The hood is made out of 5 mm YAMAMOTO neoprene. Their patented Super Composite skin has nylon fabric on the outside and Yamamoto’s proprietary smooth coating on the inside. This feels like baby powder when dry, and is slippery when wet, the hood is easy to get on and doesn’t trap body oils like nylon fabric. This material also has outstanding heat retention while retaining its superior flexibility and comfort.

I have no reservations to recommend the Kirby Morgan MOD-1 Hood w/Bib Kit as well as American Diving Supply.

If you are diving the MOD-1, the hood is simply great. It has a very good fit to the mask and easy assembly. The neoprene is very stretchy, so in case you are wondering about sizing, unless you normally wear XL hoods, the S/M version is probably right for you.

Staff at American Diving Supply is very friendly and helpful. They quickly responded to my inquiries and helped work with me find the optimal solution.
